Our new garden – phase one complete

The Process

A huge thank you to Christine from Echinops for creating the garden design and working closely with us to get the levels, access and every detail just right – helping us create a truly accessible space for our whole community.

We’d also like to thank the brilliant landscaping team who worked incredibly hard through some extremely warm summer weather. Brendan, Nick and Tom did a cracking job of bringing the design to life.

And finally, thank you to Redlynch, who laid the new surfacing – a fascinating and rather mesmerising process to watch!

PHASE TWO & THREE

The Secret Garden is now open.

The aim is for other activities and events to take place in our new accessible space. Get in touch if you have any questions or ideas!

Then in 2027 we have plans for additional features:

New seating and planter

Outdoor chairs and tables

An Awning

We need to raise funds to enable these to come to life!

Watch this space for an update…..

  • A sensory planting scheme planned and based on sound, touch, smell, taste and sight, central to which are flowers to attract bees and other wildlife

  • Accessible ramp with safety handrails to the garden from the deck

  • New seating to create relaxing and sociable spaces

  • New non-slip, weather-resistant surface, designed to withstand daily nursery use and community events

  • Raised planters for growing projects for the nursery children

  • New outdoor lighting

  • Bug hotels!
