ETNA’s Secret Garden Project

Our Current Garden

Design Concept

PROGRESS UPDATE

We’re planning to work some magic with Christine from Echinops and redesign our hidden underused garden. The idea is to transform it into an accessible, welcoming garden for everyone — from nursery children to local residents, wellbeing groups and community events.

The project will create a safe, green space where people of all ages and abilities can meet, unwind and feel part of something special.

  • A sensory planting scheme planned and based on sound, touch, smell, taste and sight, central to which are flowers to attract bees and other wildlife

  • Accessible ramp with safety handrails to the garden from the deck

  • New seating to create relaxing and sociable spaces

  • New non-slip, weather-resistant surface, designed to withstand daily nursery use and community events

  • Raised planters for growing projects for the nursery children

  • New outdoor lighting

  • Bug hotels!

ETNA would like to thank all those that have generously supported our fundraising campaign for the Secret Garden

  • £10,000 Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government
  • £1,000 Waitrose Community Matters
  • £500 William Grant Foundation
